What is the best way to integrate Square POS with Quickbooks Online?

I had been entering a Daily Sales receipt/invoice into QuickBooks Desktop, but recently switched to QuickBooks online. I would like to setup integration to save time, but there are so many apps, and I am discouraged that there are even more fees. I feel like I am getting nickeled and dimed to death in order to get the version of Square that I need. The Intuit app has awful reviews, and the info from Square seems to be outdated. I would love some real live advice from the year 2022. Thanks!

I was using Commercesync from the Square App Store for years. Recently decided to give the Square/ QuickBooks integration since it’s free. Been using it for the last month to import my transactions into QuickBooks Online and it’s working very well. I tried both both the single transaction import that brings over a full day’s transactions as 1 invoice and the individual transactions setting. Personally I prefer the setting to import each transaction due to the fact it’s easier to compare back to the transaction list in Square. You can set it up from the link in the Square App Store

Thank you @homeprogreen. I haven't read too many positive reviews, so I'm glad to hear it worked for you.

you might've been seeing older reviews because honestly the version before this new one was junk and caused a lot of problems. but definitely appears they got it sorted out with this new version

@homeprogreen Does the integration include cost of goods sold?

No. That’s already built into the Square for Retail Plus. It does give you the option to add the items into your QuickBooks item list as they’re sold and add the customers to QuickBooks as they purchase instead of using the generic “Square Customer “. What it does do is import each transaction with the taxes & fees and put them into the correct spot in QuickBooks. Saves me hours of book work each week
