We've heard all around the community and Block has informed us about the Afterpay purchase/integration and the terms surrounding its use.
Does your ideal customer need a multi-pay option? Some sellers in the luxury and ultra luxury space may hold to the notion "if you have to ask how much..." As retailers, we must not only consider our product or service assortment but how to shorten and ease the payment process.
In addition, we want shoppers to hit that "add to cart" button without a second thought. A multi-pay option like Afterpay may be just the nudge to get more than add to cart but CHECKOUT! (ca ching, ca ching).
Lastly, consider your ideal customer when making even the smallest of decisions. Afterpay is used by luxury retailer Saks Fifth Avenue, athletic behemoth Nike and boutique nail supplier Pearl Glitter Shop.
Let's talk about it? Do you plan to use Afterpay?

I have been wondering if I want to offer afterpay. I do offer an old fashion layaway plan in the store. The items stay in my store until completely paid for, The issue here is this product takes up space i really don't have. afterpay would solve that issue yet might create another - harder to deal with issue - with afterpay the buyer takes the items home and pays later. What happens if the rest of the payments are not made? Does it come back on the seller? - I found my answer I believe -
All remaining payments are handled entirely by Afterpay, so if your customer is late or misses a payment, it has no effect on you. If your customer asks, you can direct them to contact Afterpay for more information.
Hi there,
I'm glad you were able to find the answer!
Adding Afterpay as one of your purchase options will allow you to say buh-bye to layaway. You no longer have to hold on to the product, so I'm sure that'll free space in your store.
Let us know how it goes if you decide to add Afterpay.

I was really happy to see the Afterpay integration. It's a small fee to be able to offer the option to my customers. As a shopper I know I am much more likely to not only complete checkout but make larger orders when a split payment option is available.
I would love to see afterpay offered in more ways for service based businesses, such as for gift cards, and payment at the end of appointments as well.
I will most definitely be using afterpay.
i own Dixons Mobile Details & ceramic coatings.
this will be great for the customer’s that want ceramic coatings or Detail’s.
Ceramic and teflon coatings Are not cheap!
we start our coatings at $499 and goes up to $3,000 I always have a customer every day that is wanting a ceramic coating and they end up backing out due to the price of the coating. But they truly want the protection on their vehicle I can’t tell you how many times a customer has said no to a ceramic coating just based on the fact that it’s out of their price range. Now with this option customers only have to pay a quarter of that upfront! This is about to really make things pick up.
I plan on using after pay
