Had a horrible start to 2023. I was hospitalized with influenza A, spent a week on bipap thinking I was going to die. While I was in hospital, an electrical fire at my building closed my business for three months. I got out, dragging an oxygen tank, and got to work fixing the building and regaining my health. From March on, I went very hard, attending shows, creating more jewelry, working seven days a week. I am now AHEAD of the ambitious plan I had set before everything hit the plan, and I an setting new higher goals.

Business is going great here in Central Michigan! I do have a question for other's also. Has anyone else noticed a big change from cards to cash? Since 2014 we probably were around 85-90% cards vs cash. Now, we are probably right around 65% cards and more and more cash??? I'm retail furniture we do NOT charge extra for using you're card we included into our prices. And every customer ask now do you charge extra for using your card and we say NO! We're we are located is NOT ideal to have large sums of cash! I had to go buy a drop box safe ughhhhh and would prefer cards for that fact alone! We lost our Sheriff's Dept and our State police post is 30 minutes away! I'm located within a 1/4 mile of a 3 way interstate with exits and on ramps everywhere! How can I encourage more people to use their cards? I have it posted on our website, all social media, our front door! Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Twpchair, thanks for sharing. Your business payment process should be re-evaluated in order to set up the best options for your clients and your business. Let me know if you need assistance with this and will be glad to help. Thanks!

You built the processing fees into your prices so the best way to encourage more people to use their cards as payment would be to adjust your prices up a little bit in order to be able to offer a small discount for payment via card. Doesn’t have to be much. You would be surprised at how many people will change payment method in order to get a 1 or 2% discount off their purchases

We are down about 20% year over year.. but we had such a huge post Covid bump and don't really have an idea of what our normal is... so we're just doing what we do.
