Automatic Discounts

Hi

I'm wanting to set up automatic discounts in my online store.  I know I can put in the coupon and give customers that coupon code but is there any way for the discount to be applied automatically when customers shop from certain categories?

Following...I would like to be able to do the same.  I like that I can schedule sales and the discount is added and removed when I like.  But I would like to offer discounts if a customer orders more than 1 product and have that happen automatically.
