I donโt participate in Black Friday. Itโs just never made sense as a business owner to blow out a bunch of products at steep discounts then have to turn around and restock them. I always laugh when I hear other shop owners talk about how they doubled their sales numbers with a Black Friday sale where they were marking stuff down 50%. Then I explain that while they doubled the work they made the same amount of profits as they would have on a normal day ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Yes, sometimes the extra push isn't worth it if it doesn't increase $$ all that much!
Black Friday is usually busy but unmemorable for us. I have feeling that this year the whole weekend is going to be super busy and special! can't wait!
That is exciting!! Keep us posted on how the weekend goes!
Black Friday is pretty uneventful as a small business owner. It is busy and sales are usually really great. But, I've never had any craziness like you see on the news at big box stores.
I can definitely relate! All though this year we did have a nice influx of Small Business Saturday shoppers which was nice to see ๐
The craziest Black Friday I ever had was when I was working at a big box store and had two women get into a fight over a handbag. I told them if they kept it up, I wouldn't unlock the fixture so they could get the bag. Needless to say, I left it locked and when they left my area, I unlocked it and took the bag off the rack and put it in my stockroom.
@JUYBoutique20 Woah that is wild!! Good on you for controlling the situation too ๐
It was definitely wild.
