We were unfortunately hit with terrible internet connection issues when traffic got heavy on Black Friday, and had to resort to offline mode. Unbeknownst to us, apparently there was a huge issue with Chase Visa Cards being declined at the same time. We received an email from Square long after the unknown customer left informing us that the $119 Visa transaction had been declined. Is there ANYTHING that can be done about this now, or are we just SOL due to a terrible confluence of problems between Chase and T-Mobile?
In addition to the frustration of losing a big sale and essentially giving away inventory, Square does not seemed to be equipped to handle this sort of issue in regards to reporting. I had to really dig, finally looking at the History report, to even figure out what this customer purchased. There is no mention in the list of transactions. And only a time/date of sale, amount, and last 4 of credit card shown on the Transaction Status report.
I appreciate that the items were at least removed from inventory, however, not including them on the Cost of Goods Sold report is a real problem.
The Chase issue was incredibly annoying we had a a lot of debit customers that were having issue.. it's crazy that you didn't know the transaction was declined until later.. wish I had advise for you. Just wanted to let you know we had issues as well.
