Taxable vs Non taxable custom report .

Looking to make a custom tax report for quarterly sales tax information. I used to be able to do a custom report on the sales dropdown. Now it seems you can’t customize dates specifically.

Hi, @Furologypawspa ! Welcome to the Square Community!

I am going to provide the instructions below for how to get a custom tax report.

How to Build a Custom Date Range Report

You can still run a custom report — it just moved slightly:

  1. Go to your Square Dashboard → Reports → Sales Summary.
  2. In the upper right corner, click the date dropdown (it defaults to “Last 30 days”).
  3. Scroll down and select “Custom” You can now enter your exact start and end dates (e.g., 04/01/2025–06/30/2025 for Q2).
  4. Click Apply.
  5. Use the “Taxes” filter to include or exclude specific tax rates if needed.
  6. Click Export → CSV to download and save the report for your quarterly filing.

If You Need Tax Totals by Rate

To see sales tax collected per rate (e.g., state vs. city tax):

  • Go to Reports → Taxes.
  • Choose your custom date range (same as above).
  • This gives you a clean breakdown by tax name, rate, and total collected.

You can also export this report directly for your accountant or quarterly tax submission.

Let me know if you have any questions. I hope this helps!
