Profit and Loss Reports.

I operate a business which trades as a café during the daytime.  The same space is also sometimes used for evening events.

One these occasions I need to be able to identify the value of sales between 9am and 5pm (for example) and then, separately, the value of sales from 5.01pm until end of day (let’s say 11pm).

For these AND ALL OTHER days/occasions I need values/data in all of the rows below (or filters to give the same result):-

Location

Date

Daytime/Evening

Value of sales excluding VAT

Value of VAT

Value of Gross Sales

COST OF SALES – by this I mean take the cost price from the Item (product) record and give me the total value (net, VAT, gross).

If Square reports look at the Item record for the sales price, why can they not also look at the Item record for the cost price.  Surely all business need to know their costs of goods sold?

Unfortunately @Datkin1 , I believe you are correct.  There does not appear to be a timestamp associated with the COGS of an item.  Only by day from what I can tell. 

I asked the Managerbot to see if it could create the report and it could not (for the same reason I couldn't create one).   I also tried to create a custom report for this and it could only be created by date.

I would suggest posting your request here - https://community.squareup.com/t5/Feature-Requests/idb-p/product-ideas  I did a quick search and did not find a similar discussion, so I would suggest starting a new thread requesting this.
