I can see paid outs in the reports, but how do I get the description for each paid out?

I can see paid outs in the reports, but how do I get the description and an amount for each paid out?  I could have multiple paid outs on a given day, and when they are entered, a description is required for each transaction.  However, when I pull up the paid outs on the reporting, the most I can see is the sum of paid ins/paid outs, and I can't tell how many there were or the description associated with each.  For example, I could do a paid out for credit card tips and also a paid out for league dues all on the same night, and I would have typed in the description as I did them.  But the most that the reporting seems to give is just an aggregate and no description.  How can I then tell the tips amount which I need to record as a reduction to tips payable, and how can I tell the amount that is a reduction to league dues payable on my accounting system if I don't have a way to access this detail?  Thanks for your help.

Hi there, @scfreeman12,

Thanks for reaching out, I completely understand how important it is to see the detailed breakdown of your paid outs, especially when you’re managing multiple types like tips and league dues. Currently, the standard Paid In/Paid Out report in Square only shows aggregate totals, so it doesn’t include the individual transaction descriptions or itemized amounts you entered at the time of each paid out.

To view those details, you can:

Check your Transaction History in your Square Dashboard:

  1. Go to Reports > Transactions (or Transactions directly from your Dashboard).
  2. Use the filters to select the relevant date range and choose Paid Outs as the transaction type.
  3. From there, you’ll be able to view each paid out individually, along with the description, amount, and date.

Unfortunately, that detailed view isn’t currently available in the summary-level Paid In/Paid Out report, but reviewing or exporting transactions directly will give you the line-by-line information you need for your accounting records.
