motorola g9 compatability

Does anyone know whether the square reader is compatible with the motorola g9 phones? The compatibility page only shows the moto g and g4 and i don't want to buy this phone and find out it also doesn't work with my reader (like my current phone)

Thanks for reaching out.

We've not tested the Motorola G9 for compatibility unfortunately - it may incidentally work if the phone meets Square's Android operating system requirements, however if we don't test it as compatible it means we can't make any guarantees.

Even if it was to incidentally work now, we don't test it for compatibility when we make updates to the app and reader firmware - we'd recommend using a device listed as compatible to ensure it will work now and into the future!
