Prevent items overselling?

Hi. My products can still be sold even when inventory reaches zero. How can I prevent this?

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Seller Community!

At the moment we don't restrict sale of sold out products via Square POS, in the event that stock levels may be off we don't want to prevent that sale from being made.

We do however, mark items as "Sold Out" in red text, with a line through the item name as a warning that you may not have this item in stock. Are you seeing this when bringing up out of stock items?

@Supdef can you let me know:
 

• What app you're using (eg POS, Appointments, Restaurants, Retail)
• What version of the app you currently have installed
• What device and operating system you're taking the payment on

I'll check the specifics in the event you're not using the most up to date version of the regular POS system. You can also check to see if there are any updates currently available for the app.
