Hi. My work takes me all over the place in a number of different countries. When I enter card details to make a payment it is declined due to location. Because I will be taking payments in different places is there anyway to let Square know that it is me and not someone else attempting a fraud? Does it mean when I make a sale in, say Japan, I have to take down card details and when I get back to Australia THEN enter the sale? That would present a stack of problems of course. What solution is there?
Cheers

You can - though we generally recommend against manually recording card details for security reasons.
The safest way to process the transaction would be to take the payment over the phone from within Australia, or you could send them an invoice, which will send them an email with a payment link 🙂
Hi again @CameronQ,
At the moment we're unfortunately unable to provide cross-border card transactions in different countries.
This is due to the fact that each country has different laws and regulations surrounding who can take card payments and what conditions need to be met for that to happen - so while you're able to accept card payments in Australia with your Square Australia account, it won't work when you're in other countries.
Okay, thanks. 2 out of 3 ain't bad. 🙂 So I can take the customer's card details and finalise the transaction when I get back to Australia?
Cheers

I'm getting confusing messages. Can I make a manual entry transaction in Aust from a customer in North America, with them giving me the details over the phone?
