Has anyone been able to accept Westfield gift cards in Australia using Square Register?

We're using Square Register in a Westfield shopping centre however we are unable to process the Westfield branded gift cards.  Does anyone have a solution on this please?

Westfield cards are a non-chip mag stripe gift card with a pin, similar to a normal eftpos card.

Great question, @CanbCandy! 

You can accept any Australian-issued and most international chip or magstripe cards that display a Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or JCB logo, as well as bank-issued eftpos chip cards. Third-party gift cards that meet this criteria can be processed via insert or tap, provided the transaction amount does not exceed the gift card balance. However, if Westfield’s gift cards are private label and don’t include one of these logos, you won’t be able to accept payments from them.

Thanks however, we are also unable to even accept eftpos branded gift cards. 

We can accept eftpos branded cards from a bank, just not anything related to a gift card - is this something within our settings perhaps?

We have already upset many a child wanting to use their gift cards to buy candy 🙂

To confirm, are the eftpos branded gift cards bank-issued, or issued by a private retailer?  

Bank-issued eftpos gift cards can be accepted on Square Hardware, but private label eftpos gift cards won't be accepted.

Please do some help with that Westfield gift card payment, we are in Westfield and many customers complained about us this issue and reported to Westfield shopping center.
