Card Capture

Hi just wondering if there is any Square API to integrate into a wordpress site with a restaurant reservation system that we can use to charge deposits for customer bookings. We want to only pre-authorise or capture the card and if they dont show up or cancel within a certain time frame we charge the card.

Hi @Tio,

At the moment Square products (Eg. our POS system, card reader, Virtual Terminal) don't offer the ability to pre-authorise cards - though I'm not sure if this may be different if you're working with APIs.

I found an older developer blog post on this, so it may be possible! With that said, you might want to check out our Developer Forum for specialist help here - unfortunately we're not able to help with API inquiries via our Seller Community forum, but the developer one should be able to offer a bit more insight!
