Can I use a scale with Square Point of Sale?

My father and his wife own the butcher that I use and do me a lot of favours.  I want to buy them a Square stand or square register (Square stand is my preference) with printer, barcode scanner etc, but want the newest iPad etc.

that would be great, its a little hard to find 9.7 iPads for sale and because we do fruit and veg we desperately need scales.

@dalalozd Totally understandable - it's not ideal having compatibility split across different Stand models. I believe a decision was made to launch scale support for devices we had completed work on rather than delay it while completing compatibility work with others. That said I'm told it's still coming for the new Stand, so as soon as I hear word I'll post an update.

Hello, Seamus. Are there any updates on using scales with the square register in Australia? My grocery store really needs this function for the square register to make sense otherwise will have to change to a different ecommerce & POS solution. Thanks for your updates

Hello, is there an offical path to request scale use for square registers in Australia? At this rate I regret buying square hardware and waiting this long but if a solution is actually on the table and possiblly in the near future I want to wait

While we're not able to guarantee if or when a given feature request will be officially released, scale support for Square Register is in the development pipeline. We've gradually been rolling out scale support for Square Stand, Square Terminal and Square for Android - Square Register will hopefully be next!
