Hi @OKASHIBA,

Thanks for getting in touch.

Your Square account is actually tied to the ABN provided during the account setup process, so this isn't something that's able to be changed.

To start taking payments under a new ABN you'll need to sign up for a new Square account that will then be tied to the new ABN. You can continue using your existing Square hardware to take payments! Simply sign out of your old account on the POS app and online dashboard, and sign in to the new account to take payments for that ABN.

You can keep your existing Square account for bookkeeping purposes, note you'll need to use different email to create a new account. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions!

Hi @RogerH,

Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the Seller Community ๐Ÿ˜Š

You can create a location for each of your businesses trading under the same ABN under the one Square Account.

To create a new location, log in to your dashboard > Account & Settings > Business > Locations > Create Location. From here, enter the location details > Save.

If you'd like to manage each business on a separate account, you can create a new Square account for your second business. Creating an account is free, and you'll be able to use the same ABN and bank account details.

You'll need to use a different email address to sign up for a new account

I hope this helps!

Hi @Praveen1 ๐Ÿ‘‹

Right now, it's not possible to change the ABN only. You would have to create a new Square account if your business has changed ABNs.

Hey @tickaustralia,

I've moved your message to this thread, per the top response there's unfortunately no current way to edit an ABN on a Square account.

We run an ABN check when you register the account, and in some cases require you to upload further business ownership info to the account. If you've changed ABN you can still use your existing Square hardware, but you will need to create a new Square account and register it to the new ABN to make sure payments are properly attributed to the correct business.

Hope this helps, sorry the process isn't as simple as editing the ABN!

Should be able to change to a new ABN!

I've changed the ABN of a business that I run before so it still has the same name and email address but a new ABN so your saying I would have to use another email just to access your service and not the one belonging to my business?

Yes, you'd have to use a different email address to create a new account with your updated ABN, @T3DP, as each Square account requires a separate email address. A workaround here would be to edit the email address on your Square account with your old ABN to a secondary, or personal email address. This would then free up your business email address to be used with a new account. You can find our guide on editing your email on your existing account here

PS. I noticed it's your first post, welcome to our community ๐Ÿ‘‹ ๐Ÿ™‚
