website easy builder help
I need help with your website builder (formerly called weebly until square took it over). when I google my name (in order to see my website as the first hit) it lists a bunch of weird text like "play. pause. play. pause" and i have no idea how to change it on https://www.weebly.com/editor/main.php#/
i dont see that text written in the SEO page. and on google its showing a picture of james harden, which isnt anywhere on my website any more and i have no idea how to change it.
I'm going to the community help section of this website, but when it asks me to choose categories under "us seller community", none of these seem to apply to weebly. and I'm not a seller. its almost as if square took over weebly and then got rid of any community categories to support weebly. (weebly's customer support used to be so easy and helpful).

Hi @rachelcenter. Can you reply with a screen shot of what you get when you do the Google search?
Otherwise, another business I own has an old Weebly-based site. I’m still able to use all of the old Weebly tools, and even the Weebly app, as I want to to maintain that site. After I’ve seen your screen shot I can probably get you back up and going with a few tips. Square is not (currently) forcing you to use the new and better Square website editor, only to create a Square account to use Weebly.
Thanks, in advance, for a screen shot or two of the Google search results.

Squareup.com. But since you have a Weebly site, it will continue to use the Weebly editor for changes to your existing site. You’d need to create an entirely new website to fully use the Square Online editor, rather than the Weebly one.
This article gives you information about using your Weebly domain (which will still be edited with the Weebly editor, FYI), and also using other Square Online features. But I’ve never done that, so I can’t be of much help. When I switched from Weebly to Square, I completed re-built one site from scratch, and I kept the other one as a Weebly-based site.
Is there a reason you can’t or don’t want to share what you are seeing in a Google search? I might be able to assist you more with more and better information.

I looked on your square up link. I could be wrong but this looks like its just a tool to sell your inventory. it says stuff like "shop now, sync inventory". I'm not selling anything. (I use weebly to showcase my video portfolio). this weebly/square merger seems like its a mistake. its treating weebly like the red headed step child.

Don’t worry about all of that other stuff. Just click on the “Edit site” blue button on the top right. See my screen shot. That will take you to my second screen shot which is the Weebly.com editor you know and love.
No one is forcing you to do any of the rest. But it is there for those who want to use it. There’s no conspiracy here. Square is just giving Weebly customers more opportunities to grow and expand their business. If you don’t need or want that, just ignore it all.

Because that web site is a Weebly site. Weebly sites ONLY use the Weebly editor. You can’t use the Square Online editor to edit sites built with Weebly. To use the Square Online editor, you have to create a new site from scratch in Square Online.

yes i understand that. but what you havent made clear is: is the square website builder BUILT SPECIFICALLY TO SELL STUFF? or can you build a normal portfolio website and not offer anything to sell? like im trying to undersatnd if the square website is a good fit for me but when I went to your square up link that you sent, all i see on the page is like Manage inventory and sell stuff.... its like thats not what i want to do, so is there more that meets the eye with the square up website?

Square Online is fine for portfolio sites, if you want to use it that way. You don’t have to sell stuff, have inventory or anything like that. My suggestion would be to create a new free dummy Square account that you use to try it out.
Honestly, though, I’m not sure why you’d want to switch to a Square Online site if you weren’t also a Square seller using Square’s credit card processing and POS. You can do that, but it can be overwhelming if all you want to do is put up a portfolio website. Weebly is still best for those kinds of sites. That’s why Square still offers both. Besides, Weebly still offers features for portfolio-type sites that Square Online doesn’t.
