pricing per catergory

Hi all

I dont know if this is possible and i can't seem to find anything about it so here goes.

if i sell 2 categories of items say sweets and drinks, is there a way to ring in a custom amount and allocate it to a category not to a specific item.  I don't need inventory tracking and my stock changes every few days so having to add items on every couple of days would be a never ending task, however i would like to be able to see how much each category makes.

For example someone buys a chocolate and a bag of jellies with a total of £1.20 and a drink at 70p is there a way to ring 1.20 under sweets and 70p under drinks then charge them the total with the card reader.  At the end of the day i can then see sweets made x amount and drinks made y amount.

I don't know if this can be done but it would make life for me so much easier.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi @TKD_Mike 👋

Thanks for your post and the details, it was helpful to understand exactly what you are looking for.

This functionality would be a feature request at this time. When you enter a custom sale you will be directed to check out with no option to add the sale to an existing category.

The best workaround I can think of here would be to add a note to the custom sale with 'jellies' or 'drink'. However, this would not be visible in your reporting, only if you were to download a copy of your transaction history. I tested and while you can see custom sales in your reporting, any associated notes will not be visible.

To get a report of each item sold you would need to sell the items directly from the category.

If you have any other questions, please let me know!
