I've always accepted payment by inserting client's card into my Square POS device. Overnight things changed. I'm now prompted "Connect Hardware or enable Tap to Pay to take card payments." Bluetooth's on, wifi's on, my office location's still the same, device is fully charged and is turned "On." Any suggestions?
Hi SMP2,
I think we understand that your setup has been working and that is quite frustrating for sure however, if you can provide a few more details as to your hardware setup that may help others here possibly figure out a solution.
For example, we have an iPad and Stand (1st generation Stand) that has a cable connected 3 port USB Hub, plus a separate Contactless Chip Reader (1st generation ) and a Receipt Printer (Star Micronics). You can find more info here about the Stands and here concerning the Readers. We are also using the POS App - our iPad has the latest IOS operating system ( 16.5.1 (c) just released today I think) and we're also on the latest version of Square's POS App (6.2.1 i believe)
As you see - providing as many details as you can will be helpful.

With not knowing which Hardware your using to process your payments to send the information to your bluetooth reader I suggest making sure your device and your Square software is up to date then try the Troubleshooting link I am providing:
