Re: Does anyone know why Apple Pay is not working on my website?

Hi @portolacoffee, thanks for your post! This is actually an expected behaviour with Apple Pay. The ability to use Apple Pay is limited to Apple products which is why customers will only see it as an option when accessing a site through Safari. You can read more about Apple Pay compatibility here

Thanks for sending that on @Pui! It's expected that Apple Pay won't appear as an option when you are browsing on Google Chrome, but it should be there when you access the site using Safari.

Would you mind send me the link to the website? What I can do is escalate this to our engineering team again so they can take a further look.

Brilliant, saw it has been working for a few days now. We're currently using a free Square domain but will be integrating a custom domain onto the website, might I encounter the same problems if I setup the website with a new .com domain?

Hey @Liomski, thanks for letting me know! I have a look at your site and it looks like Apple Pay is coming up as an option for me in Safari. Are you running into a different issue with Apple Pay by any chance?

Hi there @ndp03, thanks for your comment.

If you are experiencing an issue with Apple pay on your website can you please confirm that:

  • You have it enabled in your Square Online Overview page, go to Settings > Checkout or Shared Settings > Checkout.
  • You are testing this out on a Safari browser

If so, please send a link to your site here so I can investigate further. Thanks!

Hey @Cherans_Bakery, welcome to the Seller Community, and thank you for reaching out.

I have just checked your website on both an iPhone and Safari and Apple Pay is not appearing.

Have you checked that you have activated Apple pay within your Square Online Dashboard as per Alegra’s instructions above? Additionally, could you try unpublishing and re-publishing your site and let me know if that makes a difference, please?

Hi, yes tried both of those tricks.  Just turning off Google pay and leaving Apple Pay doesn’t work either!

Mmmh. That definitely doesn't sound like expected behavior. I'm going to escalate this to our e-com specialist team to see if they are able to further investigate why Apple Pay is not displaying on your website.

I'll be sure to post any updates I receive from them on this thread. We appreciate your patience while we work on this, @Cherans_Bakery !

Hi @Cherans_Bakery. Just following up on this one for Skyler.

Thanks for your patience while ECOM specialists took a look at your site. Apple Pay & Google Pay are both now working as intended.

I tested this morning:

Glad to hear you're enjoying your experience @Cherans_Bakery .

I see what you mean about the image on this particular item.

I'd suggest double-checking you've added images for each variation first of all:

Square Online > Items > Site Items > Select item > Variations > Images.

If everything is set there, I'd suggest re-uploading the photo for that particular variation again, sometimes making a small edit can re-trigger the sync.

Once you've made that change I'd go ahead and republish your site

Let me know if this resolves the issue!

Hi, I know this thread is a year or so old, but I’m experiencing a similar problem with Apple Pay. My customers are receiving an error message that states, that ‘Legal Lane doesn’t ship to this address’? Any help on how we can solve this issue!? Thanks

Hey @Gabe_ao! I can see that this is your first post on the Seller Comunity - congrats and welcome aboard!

Mmmh that definitely doesn't sound like expected behavior. Have you tried the steps suggested by Alegra above?

If you are experiencing an issue with Apple pay on your website can you please confirm that:

  • You have it enabled in your Square Online Overview page, go to Settings > Checkout or Shared Settings > Checkout.
  • You are testing this out on a Safari browser

Additionally, have you set up your shipping settings so that the address that you are inputting is included in the regions you are shipping to? To set up your Square Online orders with shipping:

  1. On your Square Online Overview page, go to Fulfilment > Shipping.
  2. Under ‘General Shipping Profile’, select Add shipping profile.
  3. Select Add countries and tick any countries you’ll deliver to.
  4. Select Add rate and choose a rate option from the dropdown menu.
  5. Choose your courier and complete any courier setup.
  6. Select Done when finished.

Let me know if you have the above set up already. If the issue persists once checking the above, could you reply with a screenshot of what appears on the screen for you? I'd be happy to look into it further.

I'm sorry to hear you're also running into this issue. Could you confirm your website URL ?

Have you tried the troubleshooting steps outlined by K_ATIE in the post above ?
