Hi @GillRogers are you adding the banner to the 'main banner' section?

Hi @GillRogers,
Thanks for your post, and thanks @doc_choc for jumping in to clarify which section is being edited.
For images that are a part of your site design (e.g. header, banner, and background images), you're correct, it’s best to use an image that’s at least 2,000 x 1,000 pixels. This makes the image large enough to look good at full width on virtually any screen size. For non-background images, it's recommended that you use an image that’s no more than 1,000 pixels on its longest side.
You'll find more advice on background and non-background images on our Support Centre, here.
-
Non-background images: These images are part of the added content that appears on your site along with text. You can also think of them as foreground images.
-
Background images: These images aren’t a part of the primary content that appears on your site, but are in the background (or behind) your non-background images and text. You can consider these as part of your site's design or style.
I'm curious to know if you've published the site to see if your preview is an accurate reflection of the live site on PC. While the Site Preview function normally works well, occasionally you'll find some differences on the live site.
If you're not quite ready to share your site with the public, then you can publish it with Password Protection.
-
Sign in to your Square Dashboard and go to Sales channels > Online > Website > Site Preferences.
-
For Password Protection, select Change password protection and choose Password protect entire site.
-
Select Save when finished.
-
Publish your site from the Square Online site editor to see the changes live.
-
To disable the password, select All pages visible to public and republish your site.
If the images on your live site don't look quite right, feel free to share the link with me. I'll be happy to take a closer look.
