Thanks for this post! It’s so tough running a small business during this pandemic. I launched my homemade dog treat biz in June 2019, so I was just heating up.  It I’m more fortunate than other businesses so I can’t complain.

A small win this week: my neighborhood in Chicago (Andersonville) thrives from a lot of small businesses. The chamber works to promote them and connect biz owners. This week they released their weekly enews and my current promotion was featured front and center. It was a great feeling to see my hard work not only included but highlighted. so, yay.

**The promotion btw is a holiday collection of 3 bags of all-natural dog treats for $35, and it’s called: The Buddy Bunch as a tribute to The Brady Bunch.

He's started in on the Apple Buddies and Roddick's Red Rockets and he LOVES them! I'll for sure be recommending these as great gift ideas to fellow dog lovers in my orbit.

You all will likely not enjoy my win, but my win last week was hearing our Governor's 4 week restrictions on activities due to the rise in COVID-19 cases. 

My salon co-owner and myself are working in our open loft salon space 1:1 since reopening because we knew it would be safer to do so. Working apart and seeing less clients per day is definitely less prosperous and we are struggling to keep our doors open. Even so, neither one of us wants to get COVID or be a possible spreader of the virus due to being selfish by seeing as many clients as possible. A strange way to be in a capitalist country but we are glad that all we had to do yesterday was send out newsletters letting our clients know that it's business as usual for us at our salon, with the current restrictions.

You are totally doing the right thing, so thank you. I’ve had several friends get this virus - it is not to be played with. It’s tough but it’s also temporary. Stay positive (no pun intended). We WILL get through this. You got this.

the state is in a 2 week lockdown but hair salons are now considered safe so we are open!!!! yeah for being super paranoid and soaking everything in sterilizer between every client!

What State are you in? I am in WA and we have been open since mid-June. Our salon stayed at 25% capacity this whole time, so our recent 4-week restrictions don't affect our business.

i am in oregon and we have been open since may 15th, gov just put the state into a 2 week lockdown, restaurants, bars, gyms etc but allowed salons to remain open. probably because we practically bathe in sterilizer and cover every surface with it!!! state has rather harsh rules regarding salon operation and as i told 1 client who refused to wear a mask "you aren't worth me losing my license over"! it's only me really and have been working full on since. only thing i can't do is teach belly dance 2 nights a week but looking forward to getting back to that... need the release!!!

I'm in upstate NY.  My shop is in a mall. I'm not doing too bad.  We're not in lock down as of yet. I have the advantage of being the only pagan supply store in my area, so I get most of the business.  The one statement I hear, and it makes me feel good is when customers say they are so happy that I am here, and open.  I hear that at least once or twice a week.
