Hi
I have been doing a lot of invoice lately for custom orders and I have to add shipping to the invoice. Currently I have been adding it as a "one time only item" please can anyone tell me if I can add it as a service to select when doing an invoice so it is classed as a delivery shipping service and not classed as an item. ?
thanks 🤩
Hi there, @OTCF! 👋😀
Based on this article, it looks like you can set up your shipping costs as a service charge in your Square Dashboard.
Default service charges can be created from the Account & Settings section of your online Square Dashboard.
To add these to your invoices:
Tap Add another item to apply a service charge to the invoice, for costs such as shipping or handling, that will be requested in addition to the original invoice payment.
Hope this helps! Let me know if this works or if I can help in any other way 😊
Hi
I think that only works if you do an invoice from the retail pos software like on our square register. I have just set up those service charges within 'account & settings'.
Then I have gone to do an invoice and none of the service charges I created came up as an option. Im currently creating invoices within the back office software online not from my retail pos. I find it easier there as I can copy and paste 90% of the information in when creating a custom invoice.
thanks 🙂
Hi @OTCF 🙂 I'm just taking over from Summer.
Having a look here it looks like it's actually only available with the Invoices app.
Do you have that app / would you use it?
I'm testing but on my phone, on the invoices app, I'm not seeing the option like you mentioned even after following the steps. I'll need to check on an iPad, but I was curious about which you use?
Hi @Breffni
No i do not have the invoices app and i do not think i would use it as i often find things mistype on such small phone screens. When creating an invoice i use the squareup.com sign into my account go to invoices and create one there.
Having the ability to copy paste from a larger screen and then i know i won't miss anything as i can read it all clearly.
There is nowhere to add shipping as a service so i currently only have the option of adding it as an "one time" physical item. Then on the receipt the customer thinks they are paying for 2 items. But it is really one item and the other is the postage service price.
This in turn makes my figures all wrong and accounting. I just did not think it would be this hard to add a service to an invoice. ☺️
Hi @Breffni @Summer2024 is there any news on this how I add the shipping charges to an invoice yet ? I did get the invoices app but I can't find it on there either how to add shipping charges to an invoice so it is classed as a service rather than a physical item ? Any help greatly appreciated thanks ☺️
