Contactless reader won't work with my new pixel 3. I have disconnected it from the old phone but it says that this one is not compatible. Really?

Thanks for getting in touch and sorry to hear you're having trouble with your reader! I recommend giving our support team a call to help troubleshoot this one. The Pixel 3, unmodified, should work - it's possible there's an app or setting on the device that means it's not secure enough to take a card payment - eg apps that have access to screen overlay, screen recording apps etc.
