inventory

For some reason i am unable to change inventory this month...and items are just selling over their limits....refunding is no fun!

How do we change inventory count?? (SIte is many years old...new problem for me)

Hi @habitat 

 

Sorry to hear you’re having trouble with your inventory count.

 

Ordinarily, if you have Stock Tracking enabled on each of your items, your inventory count would be automatically updated to reflect all in-house and online sales. You should also be able to decide if you want out of stock items to be hidden on your site, or displayed with an out of stock badge. You can check these settings from your Item Preferences: Online > Items > Item Preferences.


Could I ask you to check that Stock Tracking is currently enabled against the items that you’ve inadvertently over-sold:

 

  1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard and click Items & Orders > Items > Item Library.
  2. Click on the selected item from the list.
  3. Click Manage stock > Check that Tracking is toggled on.

 

If tracking is enabled, could you tell me a little bit more about the trouble you've been having when it comes to updating your inventory? You mention that you're unable to change your inventory this month. Have you experienced an error when manually updating the stock count, or when adjusting inventory levels in bulk, for example?

 

If you could also share a link to your site, and provide some examples of items that have recently been over-sold, that should help me to identify the issue.
