Your question is quite a many-layered one for sure, but I can help get you pointed in the right direction:

First, download the Square Point of Sale app to your device. Make sure your device is running the latest operating system version to prevent any weird errors.

The app will allow you to create orders by using the number pad in it, or you can set up items in your item library that will show up on the app.

This help file will show you the steps to using the contactless reader. If you're using a swipe reader that plugs into your headphone (or iOS lightning jack), just plug the reader in.
