how do you get all the information needed to file for the Payment Card Interchange Fee Settlement?

how do you get ALL the information needed to file for the Payment Card Interchange Fee Settlement from 2015 to 2019 from Square.  It seems to be a problem to get the transactions and amount for VISA and MasterCard separated and then the Interchange fee seems to be NOT available anywhere.

Hey @TheCrumb.  You need to talk with your attorney about this, first.  From what I understand, since we are using Square as our middleman, and we pay a flat fee which means that Square has always eaten the “extra” costs that were part of that lawsuit, etc, we are not eligible to be part of this class-action settlement.  Only sellers who used traditional card processing are eligible to be part of the class.  And, yes, there are LOTS of scammers out there who are calling us on a daily basis saying that they will file all of the paperwork for us and get us money, but they are all just in it for their cut.  Just like the ERC, only certain people are eligible but scammers don’t care.  They will tell you everyone is eligible, which just is not true.  Ask your attorney.

Just remember — we pay a flat fee.  If interchange fees change all the time we are not affected — Square is.  Same goes for other fees.  Square absorbs those in favor of one simple fee (even for Amex which is just crazy in my opinion!).

Hi Chip...you had a great answer!  Thank you for the details and clarity.  I tried to get this from chat with a square rep. and they couldn't give me this.  On a side thought, if Square is going to collect on this interchange litigation (which I'd hope they do) will they share a bit with us end users?

Thanks again

Ken
