hourly rate- customizable

I need to set up hourly rates with custom duration. So, If I set an appt for 4 hours with a rate of 60/ hr--- At the appt my husband can pull up the invoice and change the duration if needed- say he only worked 3 hours-- or he worked 5 hours.  I had this figured out once, but now it isn't working- It is staying on $60 no matter what duration is put in.

Your husband would be able to make adjustments to the appointment when checking out via the Square Appointments app, e.g adjusting the price, or duration of the service. How are you currently checking out appointments?

So, I make the appointment on the desktop. He has an iPad. The issue is- the Item that is set up on the desktop for an hourly rate where you can change the duration only shows up on the POS app.  I cannot choose that item when I am on the appointment creating the invoice.

In the POS app- you can change the duration of the appt and it will calculate the correct charges. I have tried everything to figure this out. I do not want him to have to create a new invoice in POS when I have created one already in the appointment. I am also afraid that we will have a paid invoice in the POS and an unpaid invoice in the calendar/ appointment dashboard.

It seems like the solution is to have the item ( labor rate per hour) I created in the dashboard be available to choose when I create the appt/ invoice in the calendar.  

I have made 2 calls to customer service- the first guy told me it wasn't possible. The second guy told me he would " submit a ticket". This seems ridiculous. There has to be a way to make that item visible to choose since it is in the Item library.

Thank you for clarifying, @Willowjack207, I understand your frustration! Your husband would be able to adjust the amount to charge via these steps in the Square Appointments app: 

1. Tap on the appointment > Review and Check Out.

2. Tap on the service(s) you'd like to edit.

3. Adjust the price, and duration field to reflect the hours worked and tap Save once you're done.

4. Select Charge to complete the payment as usual.
