e-gift card redemption with no email

I have a customer who purchased an e-gift card in store and paid with cash payment. The recipient of the e-gift card doesn't have an email as she is a young child. When you sell it through the retail POS all you get is a receipt but it does not have the e-gift card code on it.

 

How does the recipient of the e-gift card who does not have an email redeem it in store ? 

is there a way the receipt printer would print the e-gift card out with the card number on for redemption ?

@k_atie any thought on this issue please or a way I can get the till to print out the e-gift card number on the receipt for the customer ? Seems a shame to loose a sale because the recipient doesn't do email.

Hi @OTCF just following up here. 

 

The suggestion we got was to have the purchaser of the gift card send it to their own email and print it out to physically give to the recipient.

In this case, you can find the gift card in your dashboard and resend it to the purchaser's email address or a different email address. 

 

I know it's not an ideal solution. Hopefully, we'll have more egift card functionality available in future.

I had a look through our resources and I'm not seeing any other option other than email at this time. 

 

I will raise this with our gift cards product team to see if they can offer an alternative solution here - I'll follow up with you here once I know more.
