How do I know it collected the funds

If you're not seeing a device's payments listed on your sales report when filtering by device, you might also want to correlate transactions taken on the Square account via the Transactions section of your dashboard, and also see what payments went into what deposit via your transfer reports. Keep in mind you'll have needed to give the device a name for it to properly sort transactions by device name.
