deposits with invoicing

Hi all,

I can't seem to find the answer to my question, so I'm hoping someone here can lend some insight.

If I allow my customers to make 50% deposit on their invoice does square charge me their fee once as it is one invoice or do they charge twice as it is 2 separate payments on 1 invoice?

Thank you

Good question @poppinparty

According to this article , (Square invoice, card on file section)  it looks like by them making a deposit, and the final payment , you will actually only lose an additional 30 cents.  Assuming i'm reading that correctly as well.

Square charges per transaction.  So if you had a $1000 invoice and they paid once, you would pay $29 + .30  IF you split that into a $500 deposit, and $500 remainder it would be  $14.50 + .30 for the deposit and $14.50 + .30 for the remainder of the balance.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
