deleting old phone from card reader

I cannot use my square reader on my new phone and the bluetooth pairing keeps coming up with this notification... 'paired on previous phone'

How do I 'unpair' the device from a phone I no longer have???

Hi @MichelleIBAF,

You can hard reset the Square Reader which will get it to forget the previous connection. To hard reset the reader just follow the below steps.

1. Hold the button on the bottom of the reader for 20 seconds.
2. When you see 4 red lights, keep holding till they stop flashing.
3. Press the button once to to the green lights flash once
4. Once complete that let me know

G'day Boris, we have similar problem. We lost original mobile phone we used with square. New phone can "find" our square reader but will not "connect". Have followed your suggestion but still won't connect. Thanks. Russ.

Sorry to hear about the hassle, @RussDeebee! Is your phone listed as compatible here? Are you connecting the reader in app, or via your Bluetooth settings? Looking forward to hearing back from you 🙂
