add item to payment

We sell products at our place of business.  When I go to take a payment it does not allow me to add an item we are trying to sell or the sales taxes or credit card fee.  Can you please explain to me what I need to do.

Hey there @lpierce3390.. I can help.  But I need more information so that I don't overwhelm you, since there are various platforms and apps used to take payments and sell items.  What hardware are you using (desktop/laptop, mobile phone, tablet)?  What software are you using (web dashboard using Virtual Terminal OR which Square app for phone/tablet?)

 

Once I know those things, I can help you.

 

Oh, we sellers DO NOT enter card fees.  Square calculates those based on a number of factors.  Sales taxes should be automatic, too, once you've configured your account correctly.  I'll help you with all of that in my next post.
