Would Square accept a foreign bank account if I set it up in the USA to take payments?

I am a photographer in Hawaii and am moving to Roatan. I am dissolving my USA corporation and reopening a new corporation in Roatan. Would Square accept a foreign bank account if I set it up in the USA to take payments?

Thanks for helping.

Hey there @peedeevisuals.  Square can only accept bank accounts from countries in which they are legally allowed to do business.  Currently, those countries seem to be the USA, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, France, Spain and Australia.

Since Roatan is now a part of Honduras, it seems that this is probably not acceptable or legal for Square to allow bank accounts in Roatan to be linked to Square accounts.  From what I can find in Square help, accounts based in Honduras would not be approved.

Also, it should be noted that according to this help article, accounts set up in the USA are only allowed to process cards IN THE USA.  Our USA-based card readers are not allowed to be used in other countries, and Square does check our locations before processing cards, per US and international laws.

Square supports bank accounts in select countries only. International accounts and use may cause issues. Consider other payment solutions. imo
