Why would one of my clients receive 31 Form 1099-B's?

I'm a CPA/Tax preparer that takes Square for payments.

Why would one of my clients receive 31 Form 1099-B's from Block, Inc. (F/K/A Square, Inc) for proceeds ranging from $1 to $ 1,449?

I believe no one in this Forum would be able to answer that question.  This would be an actual question for Square/Block.  This forum is mainly viewed by other users and just monitored by a few Square employees.  This question might be best answered by calling the Square Support line, which is in my signature line.

Since a 1099-B is more on small investments, only thing I can guess at is your client may bave been buying selling small amounts of Square Stock.  If it was for payment income the client downloads a 1099K form and these are not sent by Square/Block.

I do agree this is a weird thing for so many 1099's.

Square Support phone line and the online chat were of no help on this matter. A simple question that a real, live person in Square's Tax Department should easily be able to answer.
