Why isn't the surcharge showing up on POS?

If your card surcharge isn’t appearing automatically on the checkout screen of your POS, I recommend first reviewing the “Before You Begin” section of our online guide. This will help confirm whether any common setup factors might be affecting your surcharge display.

If everything looks correct there, you can proceed with the following troubleshooting steps to sync the surcharge to your device:

Trigger a Sync:
Open the Items tab in your Square Point of Sale, Square for Restaurants, or Square for Retail app. Then, return to the checkout screen. This action should prompt your device to sync with the updated surcharge settings.

Force Close the App (if needed):
If the surcharge still doesn't appear, try force-closing the app completely and then reopening it. The surcharge should now show on the charge button and checkout screen.
