Why doesn't the bluetooth scanner populate title and price in the inventory only ISBN?

When I use the blue tooth scanner on a book ISBN number it only enters the ISBN number into inventory not the title or price.  Why is that?  Am I doing something wrong?

@Posie I haven't used the barcode scanner for a book, but in retail when I scan a barcode whether it is upc or anything, the scanner reads the number and puts that as the sku# for you to create the item.  The system doesn't poll a database to look up a title or price.  You have to enter the item title, any description, and your price.  The only thing you can do is import an electronic list if you have a list of products you are going to stock with upc code and price etc.
