I have been using the 1g square stand with a usb printer (star tsp 100 eco model) and a printer driven cash drawer for 3 years. The printer recently stopped working. The stand is fine, and shows the usb hub connected. The printer and cash drawer are not detected. Nothing on my network settings have changed. I replaced the usb hub and cabling, but the printer is still showing error. Alternating green and red flashing lights. What else could be wrong?
I had to call Star for some support many years ago. They are incredibly helpful. They ended up assigning the printer to something on my wifi router. I also ended up getting a static IP. Haven't had a problem with it disconnecting since.
I would recommend completely unplugging it for a solid minute or so. Unplug everything. Then reconnect. Also login to your router and make sure it's connecting that way as well. Maybe a cord is going bad?
Thanks for the ideas! I will try calling Star. It may be the couple cables I haven't replaced, or the printer itself may have died.
I had the same issue with a desktop networked printer, somehow the printer and a network camera were being assigned the same IP address. This was random and I figured out that when the power would flash this is when they got the same IP address. I finally set a static address outside of the settings the Router assigns for non static addresses and have not had a problem since. I have the Star printer that connects by Network, USB and Bluetooth, I connect it to 1 Stand via USB and the other stand through Network. The Star Printer is assigned a Static address and have not had any problems.
