Why can't customers see item details + photos in the lightbox when selecting an item on my website?

After I publish my site, I notice that the detail lightbox doesn't allow customers to go to the item page or rotate through pictures. Is there a setting I have turned off or is there a way for customers to go to the item page before putting the item in the cart?

It sounds like you may be using the Order Online template instead of the Shop All template @baker_gal.

If you are using the Order Online template, your customers will see a pop-up when clicking an item:



If you are using the Shop All template, your customers will be taken to the item page when they click the item from your main page. This is an idea of what the item page would look like:

Hi, I’m trying to do the same - get rid of the light box since it doesn’t show the photos of the item variations - only a drop down option for the customer. However, if I follow the steps above I don’t have the same option. Seeing this post is already a year old this might have moved somewhere else. Does anyone know? I emailed customer support but they only forwarded a link that was of no use...

I'm sorry to hear about the frustating experience so far, @Riverdel. Just to clarify, are you trying to change your site's theme via these steps? I'll keep an eye out for your reply!
