Why all debit card are declined but credit works ?

Everytime I try to take an interac payment the card is declined and it says to use a different card. Why is that and how can I enable this ?

Most Interac cards only work on chip and tap readers, nothing specific the Square. I’m taking a guess perhaps you are trying to use a mag strip reader.

Let us know which reader you're using, @Audreysophie - if you're using the magstripe reader, @CB22 's advice is spot on. Using a contactless and chip reader would be the solution here. Please let us know how you go!
