When I update item details the changes are lost

The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Updating items

 

I have repeatedly updated some items - both the item name and item price.  I have done this fro my iPad and from my computer.  Whe returning to the item, the changes are lost.  Why is this happening and what can I do about it?  If I can’t update the price and rely on the changes staying, then this pos is a total pos.

When you say return to the item, do you mean in the web dashboard or the app?

 

With the dashboard, I have found that doing multiple changes over multiple items can cause the dashboard to not refresh itself correctly. I think it’s more of a web browser issue than a Square issue. There are two things you can do to fix this.

-Clear the cache of your browser and close and restart it. 

-For extensive menu item updates, I recommend exporting the Item Library to Excel, making your changes there, and importing the new file. This way is significantly faster and less prone to browser issues. 

 

If it’s the app, log out and log back in. This will force an update to the apps item library.

Thanks for responding!

 

I have tried both approaches - the web dashboard and the app.  I have not tried logging out of the app.  I will try that approach.
