Using the Square POS with two "businesses"

I work/volunteer for a local Rotary Club. Just saw the notice that our current hardware will not work soon. We have been using older Android tablets. Wondering if it is possible to use one Square Point of Sale device for our 2 "businesses".  Our club is a 501c4. Our club's foundation is a 501c3. Two different tax ID numbers. We currently use two android tablets because it is confusing for our volunteer cashiers and too much chance of mistakes to use one tablet for both. Also think it would take too long to switch back and forth with only one tablet. What is the best solution for our situation?  Our cashiers handle way more transactions for the club than for our foundation at most meetings.  Thanks,  Neil

I think you're on the right path with multiple devices. Square now has the ability to switch between two different locations under the same master account from the More menu, but this won't work for switching between multiple accounts. You'd have to log out and log back in each time, which is not fun.

What I recommend is getting the latest and greatest tablet for your club. For the foundation, you should be able to get away with something that's used but still able to update. This way you'll be set for a while. You may also want to consider grabbing a Square Register for the club. That won't run out of updates any time soon. 🙂
