I have an iphone 6 plus that just started popping up this message everytime I get on it. "Turn on bluetooth to allow "Square" to connect to accesories" I dont have any square readers that even use bluetooth and i don't want bluetooth on to save my battery life. I only use the free square reader that plugs into the headphone jack. I tried turning off Square notifications but I still get this message. Please help, its driving me nuts!!!
So it was happening a lot. So....
1. I deleted the app.
2. I restarted by holding the power button and home button until it restarted.
3. I re installed app.
4. I had to go turn on the WiFi and Bluetooth and then turn it off again.
So far, it only did it once eight away, but not since.
Does anybody Know where I should try next since it doesnt look like anybody here has dealt with this issue before? I am wondering if square put out an update to their software that caused this since it just started giving me this message over the past couple of days.
Hello @itsmerandy, welcome to the Seller Community!
This is the first time I've heard of this. Did you already try deleting and re-installing the Point of Sale app?
No, I have not tried this yet. One day I went to use the Square app and it made me sign in, so I think its a new update and that is when this all started.
Square app version 5.13
Is your iOS fully updated on your device?
We definitely have not had this issue before and as Chad suggested, uninstalling and re-installing the App will typically help issues like this that are not consistent over large amounts of Sellers.
Let us know how that works for you and please be sure you are running the most recent version of iOS before doing so.
This just started when Square app version 5.11 came out a couple of weeks ago and its something to do with what ever changes they made in the app. I dont want to update to new OS because they are having battery draw problems and I shouldn't have to.
Maybe someone could tell me how to downgrade Square app to ver. 5.9 were my phone worked fine with no issues? Thanks
Could you check and make sure you are running the most recent version of the iOS on your device? It should be running 12.3.
I am having the same issue. Did you ever fix yours? I am going to try power cycling and deleting and reinstalling. I tried turning Bluetooth off and on but it still pops up.
All.
We operate and ice arena and use the Square system and this has become more than a nuisance it has caused problems that it disconnects the way we print and creates great problems.. please have someone from Square put out a fix for this issue..
Thank You,

This is happening to me too. I went to iphone settings and chose "allow new connections" and it seems to have stopped.
I'm sorry that this is also happening to you @ParishProfit! It sounds like this is an issue with your device, especially if it's jailbroken. Can you try using the Square Point of Sale app from a different device to see if you see the same error?
Same problem. 100% on the up and up - not "jailbroken". Sprint. iPhone SE. Help.
Sorry you're running into this problem, too @greggzuk!
Have you tried the steps listed above? Deleting and reinstalling the POS app as well as making sure you're iOS is up to date?
Yes. Same BS message keeps popping up. I'm quite aware that I turn on Bluetooth as needed to connect the chip reader.
What's worse now? My $50 chip reader doesn't connect anymore via Bluetooth! So now I get unnecessary reminders popping up daily proposing I activate Bluetooth; then, I activate Bluetooth when I actually need to connect with the chip reader and it doesn't work.
AAAARGH

This just started on my iPhone se. I’ll try deleting app and see if that works. 11.4.1
So I did restart the phone and I also deleted and re downloaded the app. —-the pop up has shown up again. Once so far. Will see if it continues.
