Purchased 3 x terminals , set up and all working fine. Only arrived yesterday! Now they are ALL stuck on a black screen with the square logo . I've turned on and off, no joy just exactly the same. Did a factory re set, got to the stage of inputting the device code and then just went black and square logo.
Really annoying that square don't open for support on a saturday (I didnt know this before and I would have thought twice about using them if I'd have known this, I use Shopify for my other business and they are open 24/7 when needed!)
Hi @MinniesCoffee - thanks for your post and sorry to hear you're having some trouble.
This sounds a bit off - when the logo appears, does it say 'Powered by Square' on the screen? It sounds like you may be setting up device codes to connect to Square Point of Sale, which would be the cause of that screen and message.
This means you have connected the Terminal to either an iPad, iPhone, etc. within the Square app.
You can disconnect them via your iPad/connected devices,
On your POS device, tap ≡ More, then tap Settings > Hardware > Square Terminal.
Tap Disconnect from this device.
Tap Disconnect to confirm. Square Terminal will disconnect from POS automatically.
