Tap to pay on iPhone using card won’t work

Hi there

when a client tried to use there card to pay on my iPhone it very rarely works, does anyone know why? I have an iPhone 14

I have sometimes gotten them to work by cleaning the card with a wipe

phone to phone always works. 

Usually the biggest issue is debit cards particularly credit union cards

I am losing sales when it doesn’t work
