Every time I swipe it’s telling me to make and account and get a free reader. I e already done all of that.

We may need a few more details about your issue.  Assuming you have a magstripe Reader and you have completed your Account Setup - which Square App and smart device are you using.  This may help others here possibly figure out why you're seeing that message.
