Squarespace Ecommerce and Square Virtual terminal and Payments

Hi All, 

I am going to be setting up an ecommerce website for our new business soon. We currently have website and domain through squarespace and will be using Square to take payments for in person transactions. 
I am a bit confused on the current integration with Square and Squarespace. How would you set up a way for customers to provide payment and for you to accept payment on Squarespace ecommerce website using square? One suggestion from customer support team was to create a payment link button and then embed it into the squarespace website, but I am having trouble visualizing it and what it would look like for user experience when ordering our products online.

Square can only be used for in-person payments via Squarespace point of sale.  It can't be used for checkout on a computer.  As mentioned, you can use Square's Payment Link option - the Payment Link is Buy Now function - there's no shopping cart so if you have more than one item, the purchase process has to be repeated for each item - not an ideal situation as most sites depend on having a Shopping Cart but, the Buy Now is very functional for other situations.   More details can be found here.
