Square stand card swipe quits working

My square stand has been acting up the past couple of weeks and it is happening more and more frequently.  My card swipe reader will randomly stop working and I have to shut everything down, reboot, then it works again until the next time it acts up.  It started out happening every few days, now it happened twice yesterday.  I have cleaned the reader several times with a card swipe cleaning card.  So, the strip is not dirty.  Is my square just going to crap?  It is roughly 2 years old

Hi @jake2. Sorry to hear you're having these issues with the Stand. It shouldn't be acting up that frequently.

 

Have you gone through these troubleshooting steps for the Square stand? These steps will typically get the stand back up and running smoothly.

Same issues as above. Tried everything in the troubleshooting guide. Everything is up to date, iOS and square app. I have 2 square stands and 2 apple tablets. They all work or dont work at same time... software issue is only explanation

@Brewed Just curious- how is your internet connection where you're at? If they all seem to be working and/or not working at the same time, it makes me wonder about the internet. 

 

Also, are you running other things off your internet at the same time- like music? 

 

If you come back and say that your internet is great and runs at top speed, you might want to also give our Customer Success Team a shout for some further investigating!
