Square Register scan to count inventory

Hello, 

I run a small business with hundreds of products that are all barcoded with multiple variations. 

It would be very beneifical for us to be able to do stock takes by scanning products barcodes rather than having to print off our entire inventory and doing it with a pen and paper. 

I have seen a few articles that mention scan to count via the Square for retail app, these articles however say you can do it on 'iphones and ipads', my business currently uses the square register and a square terminal as a back up till system for busier times and we have an android tablet for the business. 

Is scan to count possible on these devices? It seems very counter intuitative to have this key feature only available to apple users.

You're correct, at the moment inventory counting via a scanner is only available through Square for Retail on an iPhone or iPad. 

This is feature is not available on the Square Terminal or Square Register just yet. I completely understand the limitation that this poses. We are constantly improving our products and features so hopefully I'll have an update on this request in the future.
