Square POS saved ticket to invoice

For years, from a saved ticket I have been able to tap charge and choose invoice as method of payment.  That option has suddenly disappeared.  I can still select invoice as a payment method for a newly created sale, but not from a saved ticket.  This needs to function as before.  I am already looking at other software options - this is important!

Hi there, @doctornote,

Thank you for reaching out and for taking the time to let us know about this — I completely understand how important this feature is for your workflow. You’re right that previously, you could select “Charge” → “Invoice” directly from a saved ticket. We’ve received recent reports from sellers that this option no longer appears, and our team is actively investigating the change to understand what’s causing it and how best to restore that functionality.

In the meantime, as a temporary workaround, you can still send an invoice by:

  1. Opening the Invoices section of your Square Dashboard or POS app,

  2. Selecting Create Invoice,

  3. Manually adding the items or services from your saved ticket.

I realize that’s not as convenient as before, and I truly appreciate your patience while we look into this. I’ve documented your experience and escalated it to our product team, your feedback helps us prioritize improvements. We’ll update you as soon as we have more information or a fix available. Thank you for being a valued Square seller, and please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like me to follow up directly when there’s an update.

I just noticed the option to convert tickets to invoices has gone away. The suggestion to add the items manually to a new invoice does not work for me.  I have a business with a running monthly tab and they order over 500 drinks every 2 weeks!  Any other suggestions on how to handle this!

@meetingplace make sure to update your point of sale app.  I can still do it on android in version 6.82 without any issues and 6.83 on iOS is working fine for me.

Thanks for the reply. I made sure the app is updated and I still don’t see the Invoices option after clicking Charge. I double checked that it was selected under Settings | Checkout | Payments

Version says 6.83so

We are using iPads for POS. I also use my IPhone 11 to view tickets and invoice them.

Do you use the free or paid version of invoices?
